The hosts of
the 2012 FVB World League Japan failed to profit from the home advantage and
dropped opening match to Caribbean team from Cuba on Friday. The visiting squad
posted 3-0 (25-22, 28-26, 25-20) win over Japan and made a great start to the
campaign.
Cuban skipper
Leon Venero Wilfredo did justice to his role and contributed match-high 19
points in the match. His teammate Ramos Fernando Hernandez did equally well and
notched up 15 points. On the other hand, Takahiro Yamamoto scored team-high 12
points for Japan.
