The spectators witnessed an incredible show of volleyball at the
Tokyo Metropolitan Gym in Japan as world champions Russia downed Peru in
consecutive sets on Wednesday. Russia posted 3-0 (25-17, 25-16, 25-9) on board to earn the winning status.
Russian ladies continued with their winning ways at the 2012 FIVB Women’s World Olympic Qualification Tournament and added fourth victory to their tally. Currently, Russia is topping the chart with a total of 12 points after winning four matches. Russia is the top contender in the competition to clinch an Olympic berth.
Ekaterina Gamova of Russia was the real highlight of the match as she chipped in 15 points and led her team to success. Her teammates Nataliya Goncharova and Maria Borisenko added 11 and 9 points, respectively.
