Hosts Japan failed to break the ice in Pool A – 2012 FIVB World League




Despite having the support of local fans and advantage of familiar conditions, Japan failed to create any spark on the centre court. Men’s national volleyball team of Japan received third straight defeat in the first week matches on Sunday. 

Visiting Serbia posted 3-2 (22-25, 25-21, 25-27, 25-19, 15-12) on board and sent Japan to third loss in the tournament. Japanese city Hamamatsu provided the backdrop for the match, Japan’s Tatsuya Fukuzawa added match-high 22 points, in the failing effort. On the other hand, Aleksandar Atanasijevic of Serbia added team-high 20 points
