Russian women aim for the Olympic title – Volleyball news

Women’s national volleyball team displayed an incredible action at the 2012 Women’s World Olympic Qualification Tournament, which recently rounded off in Japan.

Russia secured the top slot in the tournament and settled for the Olympic berth alongside Serbia, Korea, and hosts Japan. Ladies around Head Coach Sergey Ovchinnikov appeared in a total of seven matches and maintained their dominance from start to end. No other team in the competition could hinder their performance. The reigning world champions took on tough competitors but always finished on the winning side.

Now that the Russians have earned the right to play at the 2012 London Olympic Games, they have shifted all their attention on the upcoming challenge. The passionate Russian team-line is determined to keep the momentum going at the Olympic Games and to finish on the podium.
Russian players are enjoying a great rhythm and tone after claiming success at the Olympic Qualifiers. Furthermore, two key players of Russian team Tatiana Kosheleva and Lioubov Sokolova have also returned.  Both of them are believed to have solid knowledge of the game. With their addition in the team, Russia is likely to create more buzz on the centre court.
