Turkey snaps two-match winning streak of Dutch team – Volleyball news

Taking full advantage of the familiar conditions, Turkish men’s national volleyball team pulled off success in a 2012 CEV European League match on Sunday.

The Burhan Felek competition hall in Istanbul hosted the match, which brought Netherlands in competition with Turkey. The home squad totally dominated the visiting team and ended with 3-0 (25-15, 25-23, 25-21) victory. Turks did a fantastic job and snapped two-match winning streak of Netherlands. The Dutch team bagged victories against Romania and Austria in previous two matches. However, Turkey proved to be detractor for them in the third match and sent the team to first loss in the 2nd leg.

Clad in No. 15 shirt Emre BATUR played an instrumental role in Turkey’s success. He added match-high 15 points, while Coskun and Subasi followed him up with 13 and 11 points, respectively.

Netherlands was supported by Van Garderen, who scored 10 points and emerged as only Dutch player with double scores.
