Following a spectacular show of beach volleyball at the 2012 CSV Continental Cup finals in Santa Fe, Argentina and Venezuela, the female duos from Argentina and men’s tandems from Venezuela clawed their way to the London Olympic Games.
Argentina entered the competition two duos, which consisted of Gallay-Virginia Zonta and Silvana Olivera-Georgina Klug. The home tandems had spent enough time in training and practice, which helped them to clinch the Olympic berth. The actual credit goes to their coaches Pablo Bernardi and Cristian Jacob, who put in a great effort to prepare the teams.
The thrilling action of Continental Cup finals started off on Saturday, June 2 and completed its run on Sunday. The opening day featured the semi-finals, while the final showdown took place on the second day. With the advantage of familiar condition, Argentina cruised past to success in all their fixtures.
