Poland qualifies for the final round of 2012 CEV Women’s Junior Volleyball Championship

Women’s Junior National team of Poland reserved a berth in the final round of the tournament by defeating Germany on Saturday, April 14. The Sk Olimpiets Sports Hall in Mogilev, Belarus hosted the match, while Poland scored 3-2 (25-19, 25-21, 19-25, 22-25, and 15-11) victory over Germany.

Poland is the top team in Pool A and it has bright prospects to finish the 2^nd round of the 2012 CEV Women’s Junior Volleyball Championship without any loss. The winning Polish squad is scheduled to take on Latvia in the fifth and final match of the second round.

Belarus suffers the home loss on day-2 of 2012 CEV Women’s Junior Volleyball Championship

Belarus, which is currently hosting the Pool A matches of the 2^nd round of 2012 CEV Women’s Junior Volleyball Championship, received straight set defeat from Poland on Thursday, April 12. The visiting Polish team edged out hosts by sending 3-0 (25-19, 25-20, 25-15) on board. 

The match was hosted by Belarusian city Mogilev and around 800 spectators witnessed the thrilling volleyball action. Belarus pulled off success in its last match on Wednesday when the hosts defeated neighbours from Lithuania but failed to carry the momentum into next game against Poland. In the next run, Belarus is scheduled to meet Latvia on Friday. 

Germany extends its winning streak to 2-0 by defeating Lithuania – Volleyball News

German women’s national junior volleyball team posted 3-0 (25-13, 25-5, 25-20) victory over underdog Lithuania on Thursday, April 12. The Belarusian City Mogilev hosted the match and German musketeers spent 59 minutes on the centre court to bag second win of the second round of 2012 CEV Women’s Junior Volleyball Championship. Both teams were tagged as outsiders, so a meagre number of spectators came to watch the match. Only 70 people were in presence during the match. 

Carina AULENBROCK was the top scorer of the match with a total of 17 points. In the next run, German top guns will take on French counterparts on Friday. German team is tipped to keep its winning streak on the third day of the competition. 

Cumulative results of Pool A of 2012 CEV Women’s Junior Volleyball Championship – Day 1

Pool A is composed of six teams, which includes Latvia, Germany, host Belarus, Lithuania, France, and Poland. The 2^nd round competition took centre stage on Wednesday, April 11 and it is scheduled to be continued till Sunday, April 15. The opening day of 2^nd round featured a total of three matches, where Germany, Belarus, and Poland cinched success. The match results are as followed:

Germany vs. Latvia      3-0 (25-12, 25-7, 25-15)

Belarus vs. Lithuania   3-0 (25-19, 25-22, 25-16)

Poland vs. France       3-0 (25-18, 25-20, 25-16)

France falls to Poland in three-set match - 2012 CEV Women’s Junior Volleyball Championship

Third match in Pool A of the 2012 CEV Junior Volleyball Championship featured a close fight between France and Poland  on Wednesday. The city of Mogilev in Belarus hosted the match, while Polish ladies came on top with 3-0 (25-18, 25-20, 25-16). It took them 69 minutes to overcome the French counterparts.

French head coach, Jacques Beraud, regretted the loss of important match and shared his views in the following manner. He said: “We started well and were leading the score but suddenly started making stupid mistakes and we gradually lost our rhythm. This is something you cannot afford while playing a solid opponent like Poland. Everything was decided at the end of the first set. I am really disappointed because I expected a different match”.

Women’s Junior Volleyball Team of Belarus totally profited the home advantage and defeated Lithuania in the second round match on Wednesday, April 11. The SK Olimpiets in Mogilev set up the field of play for the match. Belarus posted 3-0 (25-19, 25-22, 25-16) victory over neighbours.

Pool A of the 2012 CEV Junior Volleyball Championship is composed of teams from Germany, Latvia, host Belarus, Lithuania, France, and Poland.

Germany vs. Latvia – 2012 CEV Women’s Junior Volleyball Championship

German Junior National Team opened the second round of 2012 CEV Women’s Junior Volleyball Championship with a wonderful win over Latvia on Wednesday, April 11. German squad pulled off success by sending 3-0 (25-12, 25-7, 25-15) on board. The city of Mogilev in Belarus provided the backdrop for opening affair of Pool A teams. The match recorded a presence of almost 500 spectators.
