Rogers-Dalhausser claim gold medal win at the 2012 Shanghai Grand Slam

Top-seeded American duo of Todd Rogers and Phil Dalhausser once again captured huge spotlight as they climbed up the top slot at 2012 Shanghai Grand Slam, which completed an amazing run from May 1-6.

They defeated compatriots Gibb-Rosenthal in All-American final match on Sunday and secured second gold medal victory on 2012 SWATCH FIVB World Tour.

The final showdown of the tournament spanned over three sets. Rogers-Dalhausser posted 2-1 (21-19, 22-24, 15-11) victory over Gibb-Rosenthal and made it to the top of podium.

Juliana-Larissa claim bronze medal victory at 2012 Shanghai Grand Slam – Volleyball news

The runner-up duo of the 2012 Sanya Open women’s beach volleyball tournament, Juliana Felisberta Silva-Larissa Franca ended up with bronze medal victory in the next SWATCH FIVB World Tournament.

Juliana-Larissa defeated Dutch duo of Keizer-Van Iersel in straight sets and got hold of the third position at the 2012 Shanghai Grand Slam. The final set scores of the match were 29-27, 21-13.

Brazilian tandem was moved to classification match for third position after they received defeat from China’s Xue-Zhang in the semi-final match. The hot favourite of the competition, Chinese Xue-Zhang held off Juliana-Larissa for 2-0 (21-13, 21-17) victory.

China's Xue and Zhang Xi claim gold medal at the Brasili Open

China’s third-seeded Xue/Zhang, the bronze medalists at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, downed the local pairing of Maria Antonelli and Talita Antunes in the final showdown of the Brasilia Open this past Friday. The home duo was equipped with the emotional support of great many fans but the Chinese pair proved to be the best and defeated hosts in front of the local fans.

The visiting team clean-swept home side and settled for 2-0 (21-17, 21-15) victory in less than forty minutes.

The first event of 2012 SWATCH FIVB World Tour completed its run from April 15-20 in Brazilian capital Brasilia, while the Chinese duo of Chen Xue and Zhang Xi came on top. The duo performed amazingly well throughout the Brasilia Open women’s beach volleyball tournament and left everyone behind in the game.
