Volleyball Canada ready to host the first leg of 2012 FIVB World League

The 2012 FIVB World League is scheduled to take place from May 18 to July 8, while 16 teams from different parts of the world will be on board to contest their volleyball skills. Toronto, Canada will serve as a host to the first week matches of Pool B from May 18-20.

The local hosts will be joined by silver and bronze medallist teams i.e. Brazil and Poland in the competition. Furthermore, Finland will also play in Pool B along side Canada, Brazil, and Poland. Volleyball Canada is excited to welcome the international elite players for a thrilling volleyball campaign.

Likewise, the national team is quite pumped up to take a good start in the tournament by using the competitive edge of familiar conditions. However, Brazil and Poland are two tough competitors and it will not be easy to beat them. The hard work and determination will be the key of success for any team in the competition. Let's wait and see until the teams actually take centre stage and show their thirst for victory.

Volleyball Canada will receieve monetary support from Harper Government

Volleyball Canada is supposed to serve as a host to two major volleyball events in the current season i.e. 2012 Canadian Open Volleyball Championships and preliminary round-robin of 2012 FIVB World League.

In this regard, the Volleyball Canada will recieve monetary support from Government of Canada, which has announced to provide $250,000 for the national and international campaigns, and $50,000 for the sitting volleyball at the national championships.

The State Sport Minister Bal Gosal disclosed the news on Tuesday, April 17 in Toronto. Both influential events are slated for May.
